How are we to avoid it if we dont want it?

Are food manufacturers legally liable for folic acid overdosing?

Can a folic acid causal link be definitively established?

This needs to get legal. They are playing with peoples lives and think they can get away with it

It's difficult to understand what drives the government to make these kinds of decisions. Is it the decision of a single individual in a position of great power to influence the actions of others? Is it external influence, eg manufacturers (what are the financial implications)? Does it come from a more general ideological drive to control entire populations, in the mistaken belief that people have to be 'herded', that they can't make decisions for themselves? Perhaps it's group insanity, a kind of megalomania that infects the civil service of the ruling political class? Whatever it is, it's clear we lack the mechanisms of control that we once had, in other words it's the concentration of power into the hands of the few, in a word, authoritarianism masquerading as 'protection'.

The few who are totally ignorant about, well, everything and anything. But love power. We really are fighting for our lives

Bilbo Baggins's avatar

Couldn’t agree more…..literally fighting for our lives from every corner. Finance, healthcare, conditional statutory provision, warmth, decent food, security…endless terrifying mandated ‘health initiatives’ forced on us. Jabbed from cradle to the grave.

William Bowles's avatar

And virtually no public opposition. We’ve lost our political life, our culture.

Her Indoors's avatar

And they're after our pension fund money. See what's going on in Parliament? All about 'oh there's a shortfall so we've got to do something' ie legislation to force risky investments. Imagine the rash of dodgy companies being set up? Just like covid preparedness (!) ... Headless thieving chickens.

Even Larry Fink said he wants our pension funds to finance data centres... that'll end well won't it?

It's called gangster capitalism, what lives under the Armani suits.

Scientifically illiterate ministers trying to be a hero falling for the crap that big pharma and the food conglomerates feed them.

William Bowles's avatar

So are you saying it's just ignorance because if so, you're excusing them.

Could one produce a small leaflet to be handed to retailers and bakers importers etc? The Real Bread Campaign has noted that imported baked products form outside the UK do not have to adhere to these requirements.

3 weeks ago bought a white ciabatta roll, white loaf from Tescos plus Carrs Table Water biscuits. Silly me didn't check labels. ALL folic acid. Both the roll and bread tasted weird (I risked a bite 🤣) fed to the birds (did I poison them??) How the hell do I avoid this shite when eating out? A meal, a sandwich, a slice of cake, a pizza, a pasta bowl for lunch and coffee with a friend? Overdosing??? Total nightmare.

Thanks Clare for all you're doing. 🥰

Parallels with expanded Fluoridation push in UK and USA

Both are effectively Mandates

Yes. Happily where ws are - Somerset - still has not fluoridated water.

This is a clear illustration of why neither the medical establishment nor the medical authorities can be trusted in any way whatsoever.

US FAERS shows 5,097 Deaths from 22,148 case reports for generic Folic Acid on 3 July 2023.

Similar numbers for proprietary Folic Acid.

Note that The Wellness Company will supply 90 x 1 milligram "For FREE" to its paid up members.

Alec McQueen's avatar

The mandated folic acid contamination of the flour supply is the depopulation agenda in plain sight. People will die as a result. Probably the weaker people with existing conditions. It is outrageous and disgusting.

Dr Christine Dewbury's avatar

Anyone with concerns is told to seek medical advice. Seriously! So anyone buying a loaf of bread or a bag of flour or one of the many products using white flour should first seek medical advice! Have they not heard that for increasing numbers of patients a GP appointment for an actual medical problem is fast becoming an inaccessible luxury!

How does anyone know if they have a latent cancer or an undiagnosed B12 deficiency?

Perhaps we all need to seek medical assurance that we are safe to eat a normal diet!

This really is the most ridiculous public health mandate. In order to prevent two hundred neural tube defects, for which preventive treatment is readily available and which can be easily diagnosed in utero, the entire population must be medicated through staple foods which will be almost impossible to avoid and which carry significant risks to far more than200 people.

The lunatics really are in charge of the government and public health asylum!

Jeremy Poynton's avatar

So a leaflet re this toxic substance will be provided with every wheat product and bag of flour.

Happily I am carnivore so it's not a problem for me. I will be sending this to my cousin with stents as the NHS won't tell him for sure.

Mark Seager's avatar

No mention of the people who have the MTHFR gene mutation. Up to 25% of population may find folic acid acts as a poison to them.

Stuffysays's avatar

My cousin's husband recently had a major heart attack but hasn't really been told what to do other than to eat and exercise "sensibly". Which means nothing. I suggested they sign the petition but they said they hadn't been told to avoid folic acid by the NHS so it can't be a problem. Of course when I double checked the NHS advice the bit about stents had disappeared. The NHS is a wicked organisation. It can save a life in an emergency then take it away through indifference.

Tina The Terrible's avatar

Hi Clare I listened to the Delingpole interview. I applaud your efforts to bring this to light and hopefully debate. However I am just curious why you have not raised the MTHFR GENE MUTATION argument as I think this is paramount! I myself along with 40% of the population suffer with this. Folic acid is poisonous to us! That is a LOT of people affected off the bat!

Relevant excerpts from What Is Anemia? By Unbekoming

The American fortification program began in 1941 as a wartime nutrition measure, with parallel programs in Canada and Britain. The fortification was not nutritional restoration. It was the addition of synthetic compounds, including iron in the form of elemental iron, ferrous fumarate, or ferrous sulfate, to the white flour that industrial milling had stripped of its naturally occurring content. None of these forms exists in nature at the relevant concentrations. All of them load the body with iron the system cannot process efficiently

Folic acid was added in the same program, a synthetic compound first manufactured in 1943 that does not exist in any food. Bailey and Ayling documented in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences in 2009 that dihydrofolate reductase, the enzyme humans use to convert folic acid into an active form, operates in human liver at roughly two percent of the activity found in rat liver and is rapidly saturated by intake above the US Daily Value.⁸ Everything beyond saturation circulates as unmetabolized folic acid. Human physiology is poorly equipped to process the industrial version of the compound at any dose the fortification program mandates. The MTHFR polymorphism, present in roughly thirty to forty percent of the population, is on this evidence misframed as a genetic defect rather than as the body’s protective downregulation of a pathway already overloaded, doing what bodies do with substances the laboratory invented.⁷

The body’s methylation cycle requires both cobalamin and folate in their active forms. Forcing the system to handle synthetic cyanocobalamin and synthetic folic acid produces measurable downstream metabolic stress, particularly in those carrying the common MTHFR polymorphisms.

Smith, Kim, and Refsum documented in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition in 2008 that high folic acid intake combined with low cobalamin status accelerates cognitive decline in the elderly, increases insulin resistance and obesity in the children of women supplemented during pregnancy, and appears to promote progression of pre-existing subclinical cancers.¹² A body resisting the processing of industrial chemistry is not exhibiting a defect. It is doing what bodies do with substances that did not exist before the laboratory invented them.⁷

A serving of beef liver provides iron, copper, cobalamin, folate, retinol, riboflavin, choline, zinc, selenium, and other elements in proportions the body has used for as long as there have been bodies.

Folic acid in all bread In marks and spencers and most biscuits

I forgot to mention, NTDs have been rising too, of course, because the folic acid never lowered them in the first place.
